A little update

I'm not dead, I just have a lot of stuff to do because I have a new dog, and I have no games to review. If you have any suggestions, just leave me a message. Thanks.

Woodle Tree Adventure: A Game Review

Sorry for that JPEG compression.

In Woodle Tree Adventure, you play as a log that has to get water to end the thirst of the place the game takes place in. Despite the weird storyline, the game has the worst camera known to man.

You move the mouse up to zoom out, and move it down to zoom in. In most cases,  the camera is in a wall or you can't see the character at all. In another case, the mouse goes outside the screen.

The jumping mechanic in the game is also very annoying, in which you cannot stop the player from moving while he jumps, which most likely results falling off a 1-block space.

This game isn't that great and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

I'd give this game a 4/10.

Game Dev Tycoon has Workshop support!

And so did Garry's Mod, TF2, etc...

I wonder what the workshop will bring!

Steam changing Game Prices: A Rant

So, Garry's Mod is $10. Terraria is $15, and Team Fortress 2 is free to play now.
Why do these prices change?

Well, let's start with GMOD. First thing to be said is that the game is owned by Facepunch now, and they've decided "oh we want more money" so they've increased the price. Before, this game was $5, a great buy, but now it's just... not that good.

Terraria is $15 now because of this crappy update they did that adds a lot of "interesting" items and a minimap, but I'd prefer an older version. (UPDATE: I've tried the new Terraria update and it's not as bad as I thought)

Team Fortress 2 is free-to-play because there are two types of players: Premium and Free-To-Play. F2pers are basically pay-to-winners and premiums are also pay-to-winners (kinda).

So, in laymen terms, they make the price higher because they eat money for dinner, and it's transformed into f2p because it's actually shaped into a pay-to-win. The prices are lower because of those Steam Sales, and the same deal with the price higher: they still want your money.

Half-Life: A Game Review

Half-Life (and Half-Life Source) is a game where the protagonist, Gordon Freeman, is put in the Black Mesa facility for doing a test with a crystal. Gordon then pushes the crystal into a beam, and then aliens from the world named Xen destroy the facility, Gordon is then put into the task of going into Xen, and destroying the creator of Xen.

The game's storyline does seem simple, however the game can be puzzles and also enemies can make this classic game very challenging. The game also has a set of interesting weapons.

The game isn't as well as it held up before back then, but it still is a great game right now.

I would give this game a 9/10 and recommend to my friends.

Unturned: A Game Review

Unturned is a free-to-play multiplayer zombie survival game similar to Roblox with it's graphics and also similar to DayZ and other zombie games. The game takes place in different places, but in most servers, it is in a Canadian island with two neighborhoods, an army base, a bridge (which is really long and uncrossable) and other areas. Similar to Minecraft, you can also craft materials and items.

There is no goal of the game; it's just to survive against zombies, possibly build a base, and scavenge for food, a supply of water, and weapons; preferably axes, knives, guns, and other weapons. You can also live off the wilderness, which is growing food, living off berries (some infect you, some give you hallucinations) and punching zombies. You can also hunt animals.

If you get by a zombie, you lose health and also get infected. Other ways to get infected are also eating two types of berries and getting bit. Using vaccines, bandages, rags, and other medical items to heal yourself and vaccines to restore both your health and decrease infection.

There is also clothing in the game, which can also be seen by other players and armor can protect against zombie bites and gunshot wounds. There are also traps such as mines, and caltrops.

I would recommend this game and rate this game a 7/10.

Papers, Please: A Game Review

Congratulations.
The Octobor labor lottery is complete. Your name was pulled.
For immediate placement, report to the Ministry of Admission
at Grestin Order Checkpoint.
An apartment will be provided for you and your family in East Grestin.
Expect a Class-8 dwelling.

Glory to Arstotzka.

Papers, Please is a game where you are put in the perspective of an inspector in a checkpoint. The goal of the game is to accept people into the checkpoint who have correct papers (no errors such as mismatching pictures, mismatching gender, and more) and deny people who have these mistakes. Later in the game, you have the option to detain people if they have these mistakes.

The game has a feel to it as if you were actually there, not in the way of virtual reality, but at the end of the day, your score depends on how many people you have accepted and denied. If you have made a mistake and accepted someone that was a criminal or something else, you would get a warning, another warning, and a penalty of 5, which gradually increases. You also have to pay for heating, rent, and food for your family and the penalties if acquired.

In some specific days the player plays on, the day is cut short by terrorist attacks, some are easily avoided by checking the weight of people. If the weight doesn't match with the specified weight, then it's a smuggler or a terrorist. If you do not have a specified weight, then this does not matter.

When these terrorist attacks happen, the guards try and fight back. Later in the game, you have to shoot them with one of two weapons: a sniper rifle, and a tranquilizer. There is also 32 days, and 20 endings to achieve.

My review is that this game is kind of worth the $10, the price could of been around $5. The gameplay is repetitive however, but rewarding later in the game. The game can be quite challenging later in this game because of how many papers you have to check before approving. I'd recommend this game for people who have a good eye and can detect problems very quickly. I'd recommend this game to my friends.

I'd give this game a 8/10.
